on behalf of the European Societies of Cardiovascular Radiology and Thoracic Imaging, it is our great pleasure to invite you to come to Berlin for our second joint meeting 2023.
The meeting will take place in the heart of the city at a venue which combines optimum convenience for our meeting and comfortable accommodation on site. Public transport options to reach the site are ample, with Berlin main station nearby and fast S-Bahn connection to the airport. Besides the comprehensive educational and scientific program, the participants will have the chance to get a good taste of Berlin right outside the convention center: The worldwide known sights of the city are located at foot walking distance or just a short S-Bahn ride away.
The congress program will appreciate the potential synergies of a joint meeting, featuring a common track of educational and scientific lectures focusing on particularly interesting overlapping topics from both imaging fields – to be surrounded by a colorful bunch of lectures and workshops from all over cardiovascular and thoracic imaging.
As an ouverture, educational thoracic/cardiac imaging workshops of the Roentgen society of our host country (DRG) are planned the day before the meeting and will take the lead, preparing for a flying start into the main program.
Covering all formats of lectures from plenary sessions and state-of-the-art presentations to “hands on” in small groups, we will review and discuss the current best clinical practice and explore the future developments in our fields. We hope for stimulating and enjoyable discussions during the sessions, as much as during the informal features of the meeting, where there will be many opportunities for discussion, to meet and greet colleagues from many different horizons and backgrounds, to exchange, compare and learn. To take home new inspirations for your daily work and research and, last but not least, to establish new professional collaboration, networking and friendship.
Berlin itself needs no advertising. Around the meeting, feel invited to dive into the unique spirit of the place with its experimental, modern and inspiring atmosphere grounded on former and new elegance and its controversial history at the watershed between west and east. We invite you to take the extra time to see the museums, to taste the art and culture life of the city and to enjoy so much more there is to see and do.

We are happy to invite all interested persons to submit an abstract for this year’s ESCR-ESTI Joint Meeting 2023. Authors of the best abstracts will be invited to present their work during the Scientific Sessions in Berlin. Abstracts that cannot be accepted for oral presentation will be invited to be presented as online poster. The presenter of an accepted abstract must be registered for the ESCR-ESTI Joint Meeting 2023.

Authors of accepted oral presentations will be invited for a presentation within the ESCR Scientific Sessions. Presentation time will be up to 8 minutes (depending on the final programme). The presenter of an oral presentation has to be registered for the ESCR-ESTI 2023 Joint Meeting.

ABOUT THE YAP PROGRAMME
The European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology appreciates and encourages the submission of abstracts from young radiologists. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that in 2023 the YAP Programme will be revived.
A limited number of accepted oral presenters (no poster presenters, no submitters and no co-authors) below the age of 35 (incl. age of 35) will be able to participate in ESCR 2023 congress with a complimentary registration and will benefit from an accommodation grant of up to 400€ for a maximum number of two nights.
YAPP 2023 – COURSE OF ACTION
You will get a notification from the ESCR Office whether your abstract has been accepted for an oral presentation.
Among all accepted oral presenters, the second evaluation in terms of YAPP classification will be done. As soon as the YAPP winners are selected, they will be notified per email about their acceptance.
The European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology retains the right to reject any applicant without giving the reasons. The reimbursement will be granted to the amount of money set by ESCR for a maximum of two nights and only upon presentation of original receipts (the original hotel invoice to be sent to the ESCR office in Vienna via regular mail or handed in to the office representatives onsite at the congress venue).
Q2-Kurse Herz-CT und Herz-MRT - GERMAN
Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen, Freunde und Partner,
wir möchten Sie sehr herzlich im kommenden Herbst vom 25.-27. Oktober zu den Q2-Kursen Herz-CT und Herz-MRT nach Berlin einladen. Die Programmgestaltung der Qualifizierungskurse erfolgte nach dem bewährten Schema und unter der Ägide der AG Herz und Gefäße der Deutschen Röntgengesellschaft. Hier führen Sie ausgewiesene Experten auf dem Gebiet der kardialen CT- und MRT-Bildgebung durch das aktuelle und attraktive Programm. Kursinhalte des CT-Kurses decken neben den derzeit gültigen Leitlinien wichtige Grundlagen wie die Patientenvorbereitung, Management/ Pharmakologie, Strahlenexposition und Postprocessing ab. Daneben werden vertieft die präinterventionelle CTDiagnostik einschließlich Plaque- und Ischämiediagnostik behandelt wie auch die Bildgebung nach Bypass, Stent- und Klappenimplantation.
Analog zum CT-Kurs umfasst der MR-Kurs aktuelle Leitlinien und Studien zur kardialen MRT sowie Patientenvorbereitung, Management/Pharmakologie und Notfalltherapie. Danach werden die ischämische Kardiopathie gefolgt von den Kardiomyopathien: hier werden neben den klassischen Untersuchungstechniken weitergehende Techniken wie Mapping und Strain-Analyse behandelt. Sitzungen zu Klappen- und kongenitale Vitien runden das Programm ab.
Die Kurse finden vor und z.T. parallel zur 2. gemeinsamen Jahrestagung der European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI) und der European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR) statt. Dies soll Ihnen auch die Möglichkeit geben, Ihre erworbenen Kenntnisse auf dem Gebiet der kardiothorakalen Bildgebung durch die Teilnahme am Joint Meeting zu vertiefen. Wir haben uns – auch aus organisatorischen Gründen – verständigt, dass eine Teilnahme an den Q-Kursen zu deutlich vergünstigten Bedingungen bei Anmeldung zum Joint Meeting möglich ist.
Der Tagungsort Berlin ermöglicht aber nicht nur die Vertiefung der Kenntnisse in kardialer und thorakaler Bildgebung, sondern bietet weitere Möglichkeiten, den Aufenthalt in der Bundeshauptstadt abwechslungsreich zu gestalten.

Q2-Courses "Cardiac CT and Cardiac MR Imaging" - ENGLISH
Dear colleagues, friends and partners,
We cordially invite you to Berlin next autumn from October 25 to 27 2023 for the qualification courses Q2 “Cardiac CT and Cardiac MR Imaging“.
Program planning of these qualification courses followed an approved approach under the leadership of the cardiovascular working group of the German Radiological Society. Well-known experts in cardiac imaging will attend and chair the courses.
The CT courses will cover current guidelines, requirements for successful cardiac CT imaging, patient management, pharmocology, radiation exposure issues, and prosprocessing. Preinterventional imaging, and the control after revascularization and valve implantation
will be discussed in depth.
Analogously, the MRI courses will comprise actual studies and guidelines for cardiac MRI, patient management, pharmacology and handling emergency scenarios. After dealing with ischemic cardiopathy a strong focus is put on cardiomyopathies including newer examination techniques like mapping and strain analysis. Sessions on valvular and congenital heart
disease complete the program.
The courses run partially before and partially parallel to the 2nd Joint Meeting of the European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI) and the European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR). Participants of the course will thus have a superb opportunity for deepening their knowledge in cardiothoracic imaging. Due to organisational purposes, participation with
markedly reduced fees will only be possible after registration for the joint meeting.
The venue Berlin not only enables deepening of
knowledge in cardiothoracic imaging but offers further possibilities for making your stay in the German capital an extraordinary event.

Masterkurs Thoraxbildgebung - ENGLISH

We cordially invite you to Berlin next autumn on 25 and 26 October 2023 for the fourth “Masterkurs
Thoraxbildgebung”.
New techniques such as functional imaging of the lungs, quantitative CT, spectral imaging and photon counting CT are continuously expanding the spectrum of chest radiology and offer new opportunities and perspectives for personalized patient care. New challenges are arising with lung cancer screening. To get started with these topics and to refresh existing knowledge, we have composed an attractive program in cooperation with the AG Thorax of the German Radiological Society (DRG) and the German Society of Pneumology (DGP), which shall introduce you to the basics and special topics of imaging of the thoracic organs focusing on the most important lung diseases. Experienced national and international professionals from radiology and pneumology will introduce you to the current „hot topics“ of chest imaging on these two days.
This course continues the successful training series of the Chest Working group of the DRG – but this time with a special setting in connection with the ESCR-ESTI Joint Meeting 2023. Consequently, the usual German-language course concludes with two joint sessions with the European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI) in English, where the most important aspects of lung cancer screening in Germany, Europe and the world will be presented and discussed. This offers the unique opportunity to register at preferential conditions for the full ESCR-ESTI Joint Meeting 2023 after this compact course, to further immerse into the world of lung and cardiac imaging and to expand and deepen the knowledge gained.

Reduced resident registration will be offered to residents, who have to send or email a letter, written on official hospital letter paper and signed by the head of department, confirming their status as such within 5 working days after online registration. In case this confirmation is not received, the registration fee will automatically be adjusted to a regular fee. The age limit for a registration as resident is set at 35 years (incl. the age of 35).
Registration categorised as allied sciences is limited in general to nurses, technologists and physicists without any academic title. Nurses, technologists and physicists have to send or email a letter, written on official hospital letter paper and signed by the head of department, confirming their status as such within 5 working days after completed online registration. In case this confirmation is not received, the registration fee will automatically be adjusted to a regular fee.
Student registration will be offered to students without any academic title. Students are kindly asked to send an email to the ESCR Office with a copy of their valid student picture ID and a copy of their passport. The age limit for a registration as student is set at 30 years (incl. the age of 30).
